"God doesn't want faggots in Heaven," father drawls. I notice some of the corn clinging to his chest hair. "A faggot ain't got no place in paradise."

If this is true, then I'd rather suffer through hell than live without you.

Title: Heaven's Not Enough

Quick and to the point, yes? This was written a little after 'My Secret'. I don't like it as much but I do enjoy the simplicity of it.
Yes, yes. I realize that's a title of an actual song. Get over yourself >:[

Why do you need to convince yourself? What about other people, what makes you think they know anything?

Heaven and hell are just stories, and there are a lot of religions on this planet that say very differenet things, and yes even some that couldn't care less if you are bi. They just happen to not be in power at the moment in most parts of the world. Christianity and Islam are dominant because they've been conquering and colonizing other cultures for several centuries, it has nothing to do with whether they're actually right about anything they claim.

And even so, there are plenty of Christians and Muslims who have no problem with bi people.

I know that's hard to grasp when you're only 13 and the adults around you have strong religious beliefs and expectations, but just because adults say something doesn't mean it's true.

Haha I've been taking too much college-level literature this year and was actually thinking to myself "what is the significance of the corn hanging from the chest-hair."

I'm not sure that it presents an entire idea, but it's an excellent lead in to an interesting writing project.

Well I'm terrified of dinosaurs, I have a recurring dream that I am being chased by a T-Rex.

Being afraid doesn't make it real. But I don't doubt you are scared shitless by those stories, because that's exactly what they're intended for - to keep people in line and encourage conformity.

And most of us, even the non-religious, have been raised with most of the same stories. Even though my family isn't particularly religious, I was told all the time that being gay is wrong and against god and gays go to hell, etc.

But reading and learning about other points of view and other religions can help you break out of the little cultural box you were born into. The more you learn about the world and all the diversity in it, the less power any one idea will have over you. At least that's been my experience.

Significance? Hahaha (x

Have I? Well I'm sorry... the father was just a character who expressed a single idea, but certainly not my own. Don't pay any mind to it :/ & if you're thirteen I hardly think you're old enough to know if you're truly bi sexual.

Can't do what?
